We take a multi-faceted advanced approach to learning at our Orlando preschools. Knowing that children are constantly open to enriching input, we utilize all parts of our program to engage them. Each day at Kids `R` Kids, children spend their time exploring, learning, and accomplishing new skills. The value of "playtime" is never underestimated in a preschool learning environment. Kids `R` Kids, through decades of working with and observing children, understands that as children work and play in well-designed learning stations, they learn to make good choices because there is always a purpose built into their play.  As preschool children learn, they have a natural desire to do things on their own and make new discoveries. This nature is exactly what we nurture and use to benefit their education by guiding them through meaningful and thought-provoking experiential lessons.

Our well-rounded early childhood curriculum incorporates the four important developmental areas: Social, Emotional, Cognitive and Physical. We`ve added one more to our mix - Character Development.

Our Whole Child Curriculum has been constantly revised and improved over the last several years to go above and beyond a standard early childhood center curriculum. It is approved by the Early Childhood Coalition for the state funded Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten. We often hear that Orlando Preschools, Elementary Principals and Kindergarten teachers are impressed by the academics and social skills of Kids `R` Kids children. When your child graduates from our Preschool program, you can be sure that he/she will be completely ready to excell in Pre K or VPK.

We have divided our Preschool department into two stages, Early Preschool and Preschool. Early Preschool starts at age 2, and second year Preschool ends when your child is Pre-K eligible. Our Early Preschool option ensures that physical developmental milestones (such as potty training) are delicately instilled without causing the emotional distress that often happens when a child feels overwhelmed. Once those milestones are achieved, it`s time for PreSchool! Many educational goals are established and screenings are provided to catch any early indicators for potential learning delays. Our Preschool teacher`s job is to get your child ready for Pre-K or VPK.

The Preschool Curriculum includes:

  • Child-directed learning which allows preschoolers to process and self-regulate their own decisions
  • Language, physical, and cognitive development that focuses on learning curves needed for developmental milestones
  • Small group activities that are planned for every child throughout each day
  • Literacy and writing activities which are age-appropriate and provided daily
  • Activities and music to balance learning and fun
  • Emotional and social development with peers and teachers
  • Planned outdoor activities that promote physical fitness and development
  • Daily enrichment activities to encourage imaginative and creative play
  • Progress reports that inform parents of children's daily accomplishments
  • Decision-making skills to support growing minds

Our "Learning Stations" described below are key elements of the environment that your children will be immersed in. This makes learning fun and a natural part of every day. Our programs become part of an exciting routine that everyone looks forward to and participates in willingly. When learning is fun, and "kids can be kids" at the same time, that is a formula for success!

More about our Orlando Preschool and Early Preschool

Our standards-based Orlando Preschool Curriculum is divided into weekly units that are theme-based. Our "Words of the Week" is one example of an ongoing program designed to increase and strengthen vocabulary, developing important speaking and memory skills that have so much influence on later learning ability. We are always looking for opportunity to provide preschool children with ways to explore their personal interests and encourage independent thought. Along with individual skills practice, group exercises complement your child's developmental growth as he/she interacts and observes how other children learn. Another great learning adventure that the children look forward to is the "Weekly Character Connection" which helps to boost self-esteem by encouraging the positive character traits found in each child.

Our "Hug First, Then Teach" philosophy is a crucial part of relating to the sensitive hearts of young preschoolers. They need lots of praise and encouragement along the way as they learn and grow. Problem solving, sharing lessons, respect for others are all learned behaviors that require a solid foundation built on a loving relationship and environment. Children will relate to their teachers in ways that will translate into effective communication and mutual respect in all of their relationships.

Orlando Preschool at KRK - Growing Up, Growing Minds

You may be able to tell that we have a very strong emphasis on the merits of our Kids `R` Kids Orlando curriculum. That is true, because preschool is so important to early childhood development. More than just a great place for child care in Orlando, we take very seriously our role as educators and stewards of your children. As they enter early preschool at 2 or 3 years old, our programs take on a more planned structure that will ultimately ready them for the academic schedules they`ll soon face in elementary school. Being sensitive to each individual child`s learning style and pace, we fully understand that every preschooler is different and will need special nurturing to encourage him/her as he/she achieves the goals presented.
